Michigan Flag Planted At Ohio Stadium Now In Museum

The Michigan Wolverines have won consecutive games against the Ohio State Buckeyes for the first time since 1999-2000.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh got his wish.

The Block M flag that was planted at midfield of Ohio Stadium by Wolverines defensive back Mike Sainristil after Michigan defeated the Ohio State Buckeyes for the second-straight year is now displayed in Schembechler Hall's Towsley Museum on a display titled "The Game."

Harbaugh said after the Wolverines' 45-23 victory on Nov. 26, 2022, that he wanted to put the flag in the museum.

After a dominant victory in Ann Arbor during the 2021 season, Michigan defeated Ohio State in Columbus for the first time since 2000 thanks to a big second half in which it outscored the Buckeyes 28-3 and outgained them 316-177, including 242 on the ground.

The Wolverines gave out commemorative necklaces to their players on Feb. 17, a tradition it appears they've started after first doing so after the 2021 victory.

Prior to the two-straight Michigan wins, Ohio State had won eight consecutive against the Wolverines and 16 of 19.

The flame in one of the greatest rivalries in sports has been rekindled now that it's two-sided.

The Buckeyes have 241 days to think about the last two years and improve to potentially reclaim victory for the first time since 2019.
