The Ohio State Buckeyes have lost a major talent from their 2024 class right at the buzzer, with four-star wide receiver Jeremiah McClellan flipping and to the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday.

He was set to join five-stars and fellow wideouts Jeremiah Smith and Mylan Graham as the Buckeyes' pass-catching pledges in the cycle.

Now, he is heading to Eugene, where he will instead join Dillon Gresham, Jack Ressler, and Roger Saleapaga. He is now unquestionably the top receiver in the Ducks 2024 class.

“The relationship that I had with the staff and how invested they were into me stood out," McClellan told On3 on Wednesday.

McClellan was offered by the Buckeyes on Sept. 12, 2022, and was part of one of the Buckeyes' big official visit weekends on June 9 — the second of his two official visits in his recruitment.

It wasn't long after that that McClellan pulled the trigger, committing to the Buckeyes in August.

The 52 player nationally, No. 13 wide receiver, and No.3 player in Missouri, McClellan was set to join an elite fraternity of wide receiver prospects that includes Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and many many more to come through Colombus in recent years.

Now, that will no longer be the case. Instead, the with the Ducks moving to the Big 10, the Buckeyes will now line up against him next fall.

Fortunately for the Buckeyes, the position is already deep, and five-star Jeremiah Smith is still on track to head to Colombus.
