OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels had a forgetful 2023 season, but three players still received postseason honors. The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced their 2023 All-Region teams on Tuesday and Kemp Alderman, Jacob Gonzalez, and Calvin Harris were selected. Alderman and Gonzalez made the South All-Region First Team, while Harris earned Second Team honors.

This is the second time in the last 13 seasons that the Rebels have had at least two players selected to the All-Region teams. This is the second career All-Region honor for Gonzalez, while it is the first for both Harris and Alderman.

This spring, Alderman, Gonzalez, and Harris led Ole Miss in almost every offensive category. The three Rebels own the top three spots in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, doubles, home runs, and total bases. They accounted for nearly half of Ole Miss' home runs this season at 49.4 percent, and also knocked in 46 percent of its doubles, 43.8 of its total bases, and 45.4 percent of its RBI.

Alderman led Ole Miss in slugging percentage (.709) and batting average (.376) and finished his junior year with 80 hits, 61 RBI, 19 home runs, and 151 total bases. His 19 home runs were the third-highest single-season total by a Rebel in program history.

Gonzalez led the team in doubles (18) and walks (35) and finished the regular season second in batting average with .327. The shortstop also finished second on the team in RBI (51) and on-base percentage (.435) while also recording the third-most hits (66) and runs scored (46) this spring. All while committing just five errors all spring playing the most important defensive position on the diamond. The Glendora, Calif., native finished his final season at Ole Miss with 66 hits, 10 home runs, 51 RBI, and 114 total bases.

Harris made the Second-Team after hitting .321 and leading the Rebels in runs scored with 52. The catcher made history in May by setting two new Ole Miss single-game records and tying a third when he mashed four home runs in one game versus the Missouri Tigers. Harris became the first player in SEC history to hit four big flys in a conference matchup and just the third SEC player to do it period. The junior finished the 2023 season with 67 hits, 12 home runs, 46 RBI, and 121 total bases.
