The Chris Beard effect continues to be felt in Oxford.

The Ole Miss Rebels have landed their second transfer commitment of the offseason, as Arizona State Sun Devils transfer guard Austin Nunez announced via Twitter on Monday that he's joining the program.

"2 steppin to the sip," Nunez tweeted while officially changing his profile picture to one of him with an Ole Miss jersey.

A native of Garden Ridge, Texas right out of San Antonio, Nunez had a chance to come back to his home state after one year with the Sun Devils, as Beard's former team in the Texas Longhorns tried to lure Nunez as well. But ultimately, he decided to go with the Rebels despite additional interest from Baylor, Vanderbilt, Maryland and Notre Dame among others.

He visited Oxford on Tuesday, and seemed to like what he saw, taking less than a week to commit.

Nunez averaged just 4.5 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists this past season for coach Bobby Hurley but showed promising flashes as a freshman. This included a season-high 15 points on 6 of 10 shooting in a dominant 87-62 win over the No. 20 Michigan Wolverines on Nov. 17.

He's now the second transfer to join Beard's roster. Georgetown's Brandon Murray committed to Ole Miss on April 10, as the Rebels now have a solid foundation to build on with still plenty of offseason left.
