The Ole Miss Rebels continue to revamp the roster ahead of their first season under new head coach Chris Beard.

The Rebels have landed a commitment from Georgetown Hoyas transfer Brandon Murray, per reports Monday from On3. He began his career with the LSU Tigers, but will now be making his way back to the SEC.

Murray, who is Ole Miss' first transfer commit of this offseason, told On3 that Beard played a major factor in him ultimately deciding to come to Oxford.

"I chose Ole Miss because of the mission and plan that coach Beard and staff have," Murray said. "I've never met a group of coaches with chips on their shoulder. It didn’t feel like I was getting recruited. It was more of the staff opening up and inviting me to the family."

A historically successful Georgetown program has hit rock bottom over the last two seasons under the legendary Patrick Ewing. The team accumulated a combined 13-50 record over the past two seasons.

Murray was one of the bright spots this past season. The team's second-leading scorer, he averaged 13.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals. He scored a collegiate career-high 25 points on 3 of 6 shooting from deep to go along with five rebounds in Georgetown's 79-70 loss to St. John's on Feb. 22.

With Beard now at the helm, expect the Rebels to continue making moves in the portal as the offseason treads on.
