Ole Miss Gets In-Home Visit With Elite North Texas Transfer Tylor Perry
Chris Beard is at it again.
The new Ole Miss Rebels men's basketball coach is one of the most aggressive pursuers of players out of the NCAA Transfer Portal in the country, and on Wednesday, he landed a visit with yet another top prospect in North Texas guard, Tylor Perry.
At North Texas last season, Perry was arguably one of the most underrated players in the country.
Still, he won Conference USA Player of the Year and NIT MVP while helping lead North Texas to an NIT title, averaging 17.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and hitting 43.7 percent from the field.
Behind Perry, the Mean Green tied program records for single-season wins (25) and conference wins (16).
He ranked 10th in the country in 3-point percentage (42.6), which is incredibly efficient considering he attempted 7.5 triples per game.
Perry has also scheduled visits with Alabama and Florida.
Recently, the Oklahoma native released a list of top-12 transfer destinations, which included Baylor, Florida, Texas Tech, Arkansas, Louisville, Tennesee, Wake Forest Oklahoma, Creighton, Minnesota, Stanford and Oklahoma State.
Before transferring to North Texas, Perry spent time at Coffeyville Community College, helping his team to win the 2021 NJCAA Division I national championship.
Perry will have one year of eligibility remaining after graduating this spring.
