Ole Miss Basketball Falls to Texas A&M at Home 69-61

The Rebels lost their final home game of the season to the Aggies on Tuesday night.

OXFORD, Miss. — The Ole Miss Rebels fought hard behind junior guard Matthew Murrell but ended up losing to the No. 24 Texas A&M Aggies 69-61 on Tuesday night at home.

Murrell led the Rebels in scoring with 26 points shooting nine for 15 from the field, and sophomore guard James White finished second on the team in scoring with 9 points. Murrell was the only Rebel who ended the game with a double-digit stat-line.

Ole Miss went into the locker room at halftime down by only six thanks to an 11-point half from Murrell. The Rebels started the game hot with an 11-4 lead but Texas A&M powered back to finish both halves with the lead.

Ole Miss brought Texas A&M’s lead within two points but the Aggies got the best of the Rebels in the end. 

In their final home game of the season, the Rebels shot 37.3 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from behind the three-point line. Texas A&M on the other hand shot 37.9 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The Rebels are set to play the Missouri Tigers in their final regular season game of the year in Columbia on Saturday, March 4 at 2:30 p.m. CT. The game will be televised on SEC Network.
