Ole Miss Rebels Suffer Tough Road Loss To LSU Tigers
The No. 22 Ole Miss Rebels faced another SEC challenge on Wednesday night, as Chris Beard's team suffered a 89-80 loss to the LSU Tigers on the road. This marks the Rebels' second loss of the 2023-24 season and their second loss of Beard's tenure.
The Tigers (11-5, 3-1 SEC) entered halftime with a 35-33 lead over the Rebels (15-2, 2-2 SEC) after guard Jalen Cook knocked down a three-pointer to take control of the contest. Guard Jaylen Murray led Ole Miss in scoring in the first half with 13 points. Murray was hot from behind the arc, as he made both of his three-point attempts in the first half.
Ole Miss put up a good fight in the first period, but LSU came out swinging after the break and did not give the Rebels a chance to catch up until the final minutes.
Ole Miss was led in scoring by Murray with 23 points, and he was joined in double digits by Matthew Murrell (19), Allen Flanigan (20), and Jaemyn Brakefield (13). As a team, the Rebels shot 37 percent from the field and 25 from three compared to percentages of 48 and 48 from LSU, respectively.

Ole Miss is now set to take on the No. 13 Auburn Tigers on the road in the Neville Arena on Saturday. Auburn owns a 14-2 overall record entering its home game versus the Rebels. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
