Ole Miss MBB Lands Commitment From 3-Star Big Man Cameron Barnes

Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels landed another big commit on Monday.
In this story:

Chris Beard and the Ole Miss Rebels are in the midst of rebuilding the roster in Oxford, having already landed a commitment from Jacob Gazzo, and multiple transfer commitments over the last few weeks.

And on Monday, Beard landed another one, with three-star big man Cameron Barnes committing to the program.

“I chose Ole Miss because Coach Beard and his staff were very intentional about me while on my visit,” Barnes told On3 in an interview. “Coach (Chris) Beard is one of the best college coaches in the nation and the plan he has in place for me which includes top strength and conditioning coordinator Coach John Reilly, will also be a big part of my player development. I’m excited about our coaching staff, the team and Ole Miss as a whole!”

A North Texas native and a member of the basketball pipeline at Duncanville (TX) High School, the 6-foot-10 Barnes averaged 6.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game in his junior season.

Barnes has spent all three of his seasons with Duncanville on the varsity squad and heads into his senior season as a three-star recruit by most services, but is rated as a four-star on ESPN.

Barnes chose the Rebels over SMU, TCU, Kansas, Baylor, Oklahoma, Memphis, Oklahoma StTe, Texas Tech, Texas A&M and Wichita State.
