Rebels Offensive Fall Camp Two-Deep Depth Chart Projection

What will the Ole Miss Rebels' offensive depth chart look like when Week 1 rolls around?
In this story:

OXFORD, Miss. -- College football is back as the Ole Miss Rebels finished their first day of fall camp on Wednesday. While there is no denying that Lane Kiffin's offense is talented entering the 2023 season, the order of that side of the ball remains undecided.

The Rebels are still in the middle of a quarterback battle that will likely run until the last minute, and there is plenty of competition in Ole Miss' revamped receiving corps.

With their 2023 college football campaign starting a month from now, TheGroveReport.com took a shot at predicting how Ole Miss' depth chart will look after fall camp - starting on offense:

Quarterback

Jaxson Dart

Spencer Sanders

The buzz around the Rebels this offseason has been centered around its quarterback competition and the room got even more crowded after 2023 four-star Austin Simmons announced that he flipped his commitment from Florida to Ole Miss in June. Jaxson Dart had a strong spring and has continued to improve his passing mechanics the entire offseason. Spener Sanders fell behind in the race this spring after dealing with a shoulder injury but is reportedly back to 100 percent and recently dispelled rumors about him leaving Ole Miss ahead of Week 1.

Walker Howard has impressed this offseason, but I see him being the guy in 2024 barring any unforeseen injury. Simmons will also be more prepared to compete for the starting position next year after learning from the experienced quarterbacks on Ole Miss' roster.

Running back

Quinshon Judkins

Ulysses Bentley IV

This one is a no-brainer. After headlining the No. 1 rushing attack in the SEC last season as a true freshman, Quinshon Judkins will continue to dominate as Ole Miss' leading tailback. Ulysses Bentley IV should also get his fair share of touches, however, now that he is back up to full speed after dealing with an injury in 2022.

Bentley will likely see the ball more on passing downs, but Judkins has been working on the receiving aspect of his game this offseason and looked smooth in drills during the first day of fall camp.

Wide Receiver

WR - X

Jordan Watkins

Tre Harris

WR - H

Zakhari Franklin

Bralon Brown

WR - Z

Dayton Wade

Jalen Knox

This was the hardest position to decide on offense. The 2023 Ole Miss receiving corp consists of a mix of youthful potential and veteran experience to round out one of the deepest units in the SEC. Jordan Watkins and Dayton Wade return for their senior seasons and both veterans looked comfortable during the first day of fall camp.

Kiffin struck gold in the transfer portal with Zakhari Franklin and Tre Harris, as the two wideouts combined for 25 receiving touchdowns in 2022. Jalen Knox was limited in 2022 due to injury but was a go-to target during the 2023 Grove Bowl. Bralon Brown and JJ Henry both made plays at camp on Wednesday and will be key depth pieces for a talented position group.

Tight End

Caden Prieskorn

Michael Trigg

You could flip a coin to decide the order of Ole Miss' tight end group. Caden Prieskorn is the more complete tight end, but Trigg is a versatile pass-catcher who can line up anywhere on the field. Trigg has reportedly improved as a blocker, however, and is 100 percent healthy so he definitely has a chance to start, but Prieskorn just hauled in a career-high seven touchdowns in 2022. Either way, look for the Rebels to run a lot more two-tight end sets in 2023.

Kyirin Heath and Jayvonte Conner will add excellent depth to the position too.

Offensive Line

Left Tackle

Jayden Williams

Cedric Melton

Left Guard

Eli Acker

Cedrick Nicely

Center

Caleb Warren

Reece McIntyre

Right Guard

Jeremy James

Quincy McGee

Right Tackle

Micah Pettus

Victor Curne

The Rebels return four starters along the offensive line: Jayden Williams, Caleb Warren, Jeremy James, and Micah Pettus. James allowed zero sacks in 430 pass blocks last season and Warren started in 12 games at center in 2022. Pettus earned third-team All-American honors after starting in nine games at right tackle and was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week in his first career start versus Kentucky.

Eli Acker appeared in all 13 games last season and has nine career starts to his name, so I think he slides in at left guard in Week 1. Transfers Quincy McGee and Victor Curne, however, will definitely make a push for a starting position in the trenches. Cedrick Nicely, Reese McIntyre, and Cedric Melton add veteran experience and depth to the group.
