Former Ole Miss WR Jahcour Pearson Led XFL in Receiving in 2023
Former Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Jahcour Pearson was not only a top pass-catching option for Seattle Sea Dragons quarterback Ben DiNucci, but for the entire XFL in the 2023 season.
Pearson, who played at Ole Miss in 2021 after transferring from Western Kentucky, caught 60 passes for 670 yards, which were both league-highs, to go along with four touchdowns. For his efforts, Pearson was invited to work out with the Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Falcons.
Pearson, a former three-star recruit in the class of 2016, began his career with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. While in Bowling Green, Ky., Pearson caught 20 passes for 172 yards before a breakout junior season.
In 2019, the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native was the Hilltoppers' second-leading receiver behind Lucky Jackson. Pearson reeled in 76 passes for 804 yards and seven touchdowns, which are all career-highs.
He played in two games in 2020, hauling in nine passes for 96 yards before entering the transfer portal.
The 5-7, 178-pound pass-catcher joined the Rebels in spring 2021, catching the third-most passes of any Ole Miss receiver with 26, only trailing Dontario Drummond's 76 and Jerrion Ealy's 32. Pearson had 392 receiving yards in his lone season in Oxford.
Pearson went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft, but was invited to the New York Giants' rookie minicamp workouts before being selected 27th overall by the Sea Dragons in the 2023 XFL Draft in November 2022.
