Ole Miss Over LSU? Rebels Picked to Upset Tigers in 2023

Ole Miss has a stacked conference schedule in 2023, but that just means more opportunities for upsets.

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels have been dealt the most difficult schedule in the Southeastern Conference this fall, but that means Lane Kiffin's squad will have multiple opportunities to shake up the 2023 regular season for themselves and their opponents.

Ole Miss has back-to-back home games versus the Arkansas Razorbacks and LSU Tigers, respectively, after traveling to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 4. The Rebels also have to cap off their 2023 campaign with road games versus the Georgia Bulldogs (Week 10) and Mississippi State Bulldogs (Week 12).

Ole Miss has seven-straight SEC matchups in 2023, on top of an early road test versus the Tulane Green Wave in Week 2, things could get ugly for the Rebels.

The Rebels are definitely underdogs in their road games versus the Bulldogs and Tide, and LSU will likely be favored when the Tigers make the journey to Oxford.

Out of those three upset opportunities, 247Sports believes Ole Miss has the best chance to come out victorious over LSU in front of a home crowd. The outlet released its 10 potential upsets that could alter the 2023 season and selected Ole Miss over LSU.

OLE MISS OVER LSU

"Ole Miss has plenty of opportunities to pull off an upset in 2023 with multiple highly-ranked teams on its schedule. Of course, the Rebels will be underdogs in the matchups with Alabama, Georgia and LSU and are not guaranteed to win any of them, but it feels as though Lane Kiffin has too much offensive firepower (see the quarterback room of Spencer Sanders, Jaxson Dart and Walker Howard) to not at least put a scare into one of those opponents. The Tigers are the least-established team of those three and have to travel to Oxford, making them slightly the most likely squad to fall to an upset-minded Ole Miss program."

Kiffin has not named his starting signal caller for the 2023 season, but whoever comes out on top, will be hardened by one of the toughest quarterback battles in the nation.

If the Rebels want to have a chance at pulling off an upset over Georgia, Alabama, or LSU, they will need their quarterback play to be virtually perfect. A win over LSU at home in Week 5 would be the perfect spark plug to help Ole Miss power through its conference schedule this fall.
