All-Southeastern Conference First Teamer Quinshon Judkins set the Ole Miss Rebels single-season rushing yards and touchdowns records in 2022, and he was only a freshman.

After the overwhelming success Judkins had in year one, it might be difficult to imagine ways that Judkins can improve in his sophomore season, but he told SEC Network's Alyssa Lang at media days July 20 that he's become more knowledgeable with better skills.

"As a freshman you come in, and you don't really know as much as you do now as I would just kind of out there playing," Judkins said. "Now when you put it all together, it'll be even better."

The Pike Road, Ala., native took some time in his freshman-year development, but had about as good of a five-game stretch as he and head coach Lane Kiffin could've asked for.

Starting with the Rebels' matchup against Auburn Oct. 15 through the Arkansas game Nov. 19, he ran for 804 yards and eight touchdowns on 133 carries.

The 2023 Preseason First Team All-American said he's taken the offseason to learn new facets of the game.

"Defenses, you know, the scheme of defenses," Judkins said. "Breaking down what everybody else is doing on the field. My knowledge of the pass protection game and just getting involved more in the pass game as well."

Judkins said Kiffin's offense is one of the best for. running back to be in, and that the Rebels are ready for 2023.

"Coming in having that swagger," Judkins said. "Everybody's ready to go, ready to roll, so you know what we're able to do."
