Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins Named First-Team Preseason All-SEC

Ole Miss Rebels running back Quinshon Judkins sits atop the Southeastern Conference after leading the league in rushing as a true freshman.

OXFORD, Miss. -- Ole Miss Rebels running back Quinshon Judkins was named to First-Team Preseason All-SEC by media members at the 2023 SEC Media Days.

Judkins is poised for an incredible sophomore campaign after being named both a first-team Preseason All-American and first-team Preseason All-SEC honoree by Lindy's, Walter Camp, Phil Steele and Athlon Sports. The Pike Road, Ala., native put the country on notice in 2022 when he led the SEC in carries (274), rushing yards (1,567), and rushing touchdowns (16) as a true freshman.

Judkins' historic freshman campaign earned him honors including CBS’ National Freshman of the Year, On3’s Offensive True Freshman of the Year, the SEC Newcomer and SEC Freshman of the Year. Judkins cemented his name in the Ole Miss record books by setting single-season records in both rushing yards and touchdowns last fall.

Judkins finished the 2022 season seventh in the country in rushing yards and tenth in rushing touchdowns. The only SEC freshman tailback who recorded more yards than Judkins is Georgia Bulldogs running back Herschel Walker, who ran for 1,616 yards in 1980.

The former three-star recruit is the headliner for an Ole Miss team that was recently picked to finish fourth in the crowded SEC West this fall. Judkins could have Heisman Trophy potential this fall if he can build off his historic freshman year.
