Rebels Announce Player Representatives at SEC Media Days
OXFORD, Miss. -- With SEC Media Days scheduled to begin next week, programs in the Southeastern Conference are beginning to name their player representatives for the event, including the Ole Miss Rebels.
The Rebels announced their three player representatives for the event on Monday morning, opting to go with one offensive player and two from the defensive side of the ball. Running back Quinshon Judkins, tabbed as one of the top backs returning to college football this season, will represent on offense, and cornerback Deantre Prince and defensive end Cedric Johnson round out the selection.
Judkins is a clear candidate to represent Ole Miss at the event, having garnered national hype as he enters his sophomore season in Oxford. He rattled off eight 100-plus yard performances on the ground last season, helping Ole Miss finish 8-5 in 2023. He averaged 5.7 yards per play and led all SEC runners in touchdowns with 16. Judkins also joined an elite group of running backs, becoming the ninth freshman in league history to rush for 1,500 yards in a single season since 2000.
Prince is a veteran in the Ole Miss secondary, having hauled in five interceptions over the course of his career. Now, he enters his senior season after transferring to Ole Miss from Northeast Mississippi Community College earlier in his career.
Johnson has accumulated 72 total tackles and 15.5 TFLs during his Ole Miss career, and he is expected to be a key part of the Rebels' front under new defensive coordinator Pete Golding.
A notable exclusion from the Rebels' media day lineup is a quarterback. Lane Kiffin has three options when it comes to his signal caller this season, but signs point to incumbent starter Jaxson Dart taking a lead in that competition as fall approaches.
Ole Miss will have its time at SEC Media Days on July 20 in Nashville, Tenn.
