5-Star Edge Rusher Elijah Rushing Sets Commitment Date
2024 Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic EDGE Elijah Rushing is ready to come off the board.
On Tuesday, he set a commitment date for Thursday July 6.
Rushing has been at the top of Dan Lanning's big board for defensive linemen and edge rushers from the moment he took the job. The Ducks have had star edge rushers like Kayvon Thibodeaux come through the program and develop into first-round NFL Draft picks and now they're hoping he can become the next.
The No. 2 player in Arizona has been to Oregon numerous times throughout his recruitment, which is part of the reason the Ducks have been near the top during his process.
The 6-foot-5, 250-pound trench talent has taken a lot of official visits this month, wrapping up his slate with a trip to Tennesse over the weekend. He also took official visits to Oregon, Arizona, Notre Dame and UCLA as well.
I made my prediction for Oregon to land Rushing last week.
Oregon currently has the No. 7 recruiting class in the country for 2024 and has landed commitments from Jack Ressler, Devin Brooks and Kingston Lopa this month. The coaching staff has been putting in a lot of work hosting official visitors throughout the month and they're also awaiting the decision of 2024 Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville offensive tackle JacQawn McRoy, who's set to make his commitment on Saturday July 1.
