Brandon Baker is the biggest name out West along the offensive line and he has deep ties to Oregon.

One of Oregon's top targets in the 2024 recruiting class will be making another trip back to Eugene.

On Wednesday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 Sports reported that Brandon Baker will visit Eugene for Oregon's annual spring game, making him the latest elite recruit to lock in a trip for a star-studded weekend.

Baker stands 6'5" and weighs 285 pounds. He's rated a five-star (0.9800) recruit by 247Sports and ranked the No. 23 player nationally, the No. 1 offensive tackle and the No. 1 recruit in California.

He's at the top of A'lique Terry's 2024 offensive line big board and for good reason. Not only is Baker the best of best on the West Coast, his older brother Gary Baker played defensive line for Oregon from 2015 to 2019, which could give them an inside track in his recruitment.

The Ducks were in a great spot with Baker during the 2022 season, but their recruitment of the All-American offensive lineman got reset when Adrian Klemm (New England Patriots) and Viane Talamaivao (Stanford Cardinal) left Eugene for new jobs after last season.

Baker's next trip to Eugene will give him the chance to meet Terry as well as Mike Cavanaugh and continue building those relationships. The Ducks still have a great shot in his recruitment because the staff never assigns just one coach or staff member to a recruit, it's always a number of coaches fostering connections with a given recruit.

"I'd have to say really just the new energy," he said about why Oregon has his attention. "I've been there a handful of times and every time I'm down there it's just a breath of fresh air and new energy--it's something that's being built down there. I know Coach Lanning's definitely wanting to build a culture down there, so really excited to see how it's forming down there."

Along with Oregon, Baker is set for a busy spring, with trips to Michigan, Florida State, Georgia, Texas and Nebraska already scheduled for this month.
