Oregon Picks up New Prediction to Land 2024 Quarterback

The Ducks are looking for their quarterback in the 2024 class and may be picking up steam with one of their recent offers.

We're at the point in the recruiting calendar when commitments are happening more and more frequently.

Schools across the country are landing their quarterbacks of the future. For Oregon and Will Stein, there's no shortage of passers they're pursuing, but they may be pulling ahead for one arm out west.

On Tuesday, ScoopDuck's Justin Hopkins logged a prediction for Oregon to land 2024 Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope quarterback Luke Moga.

Moga stands at 6'2" and weighs 190 pounds. He landed an offer from the Ducks in January following a trip to Eugene and has been scorching on the recruiting trail of late, hauling in offers from Michigan State, Utah, Miami and TCU among his 25 total offers.

The Arizona passer has taken recent trips to Miami, Utah, Cal and BYU. On Wednesday he told Ducks Digest that he plans to return to Eugene for another Oregon visit on April 22.

The Ducks are bringing in most of their top targets throughout the month, but no visitor list is bigger than the annual spring game on April 29.

Oregon has a number of connections to Moga's native state of Arizona both on the staff and the roster. Over the offseason Oregon's assistant quarterbacks coach Jordan Somerville, an Arizona native, was hired away by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Moga would be a solid start to Will Stein's quarterback recruiting in Eugene (unless you count Bo Nix) as he's one of the most athletic quarterbacks in his class. The Ducks have Nix leading the quarterbacks this season, but the future conversation revolves around Ty Thompson and Austin Novosad as younger guys in that room.

Lanning and company also added senior walk-on quarterback Matt Rush from Washington University in Illinois as they resumed spring practice this week.

Oregon's 2024 recruiting class currently ranks No. 16 nationally by 247Sports and is headlined by four-star wide receiver Jordan Anderson from Newport Beach (Calif.) Newport Harbor.
