This could be the start of the run we've been expecting from the Ducks on the recruiting trail.

2024 Forney (Tex.) safety Aaron Flowers has committed to Oregon. He announced his commitment to Dan Lanning and the Ducks on Friday, choosing Oregon over finalists like USC, Oklahoma and Alabama among others.

He landed on Oregon after taking a number of important visits this spring. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back took trips to Oregon, USC, Alabama and Arkansas in March before making his decision.

Flowers has been one of Chris Hampton's top targets in the 2024 class since the former Tulane defensive coordinator joined Dan Lanning's coaching staff in January.

"It looks really great," he said of his relationships with the Oregon coaching staff. "They're heavy hitters in my recruiting process. They always get me on Facetime with Coach Hampton. Coach Lanning Facetimes me a lot compared to other coaches. He's a really chill guy. He talks to my dad a lot too."

Flowers is rated a four-star (0.9397) recruit on the 247Sports Composite. He's ranked the No. 133 player nationally, the No. 10 safety and the No. 24 recruit in Texas.

He's the first defensive back to commit to Oregon in 2024. He's the third highest-rated commit in Dan Lanning's haul behind wide receivers Jordan Anderson and Tyseer Denmark.

Oregon continues to flourish in the state of Texas after signing six recruits from the Lone Star State in 2023, highlighted by edge rusher Ashton Porter (Cypress, TX) safety Tyler Turner (San Antonio, TX) and wide receiver Ashton Cozart (Flower Mound, TX) to name a few.

Flowers' commitment couldn't come at a better time for the Ducks, as they're bringing in serious talent for recruiting visits throughout the month, with spring ball culminating on April 29 when Oregon holds its annual spring game.

His commitment moves Oregon from No. 18 to No. 11 in the 247Sports recruiting rankings for the 2024 class.
