We got to see a lot of talented linemen at the Under Armour Next Camp in Los Angeles last weekend.

Eugene Brooks from Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon was one of the best of the bunch and was named co-offensive line MVP.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound offensive lineman is coming off a recent trip to Washington and spoke about the trip.

"It was a great trip,"he said. "Just building that relationship with the coaches, talking to them. Going down with some film and just understanding the game with them. Getting to understand how the team go and how the O-line works."

He'll visit Georgia on Thursday and head to Texas on April 22 for the Longhorns' spring game.

Brooks has stacked 16 reported scholarship offers as he heads into his senior season, but he's hearing the most from three schools.

"USC, Oregon and Texas," Brooks said of who's recruiting him hardest.

The talks with the new offensive line staff have gotten off to a strong start.

"It's been great," he said about Oregon's communication. "The O-line coach left so they got a new O-line. I'm building a relationship with him. It's a great relationship right now."

Brooks doesn't have a date locked in for an Oregon visit but is planning to get out to Eugene.

One of the coaches he's spoken with most at Oregon is new offensive line coach A'lique Terry.

"Just building that relationship up with him," he said. "Getting the flow right. Having great talks."

The Ducks have recruited Sierra Canyon before and have someone on the inside that's been in Brooks' ear.

"One of our former players from Sierra Canyon Mike Woot (Michael Wooten), he just went out there. It's a great program. He tells me it's great for him and O-line, it's just O-line territory. That's just how it is, it's great."

Many recruits are scheduling their official visits, but Brooks isn't there just yet in his recruitment.

"Hopefully I'll take 'em down in fall. If not I'm not pretty sure about the dates for my official visits yet."

With some schools maybe starting to separate themselves from the pack, it's possible could make a decision in the near future.

"Hopefully I'll be able to make my decision before the season," Brooks said. "If not definitely during season. Just taking my process slow and just taking my time with it."
