Elite 2025 WR Marcus Harris Announces Top Schools

Marcus Harris is ranked the No. 7 wide receiver in the 2025 class and a top-five prospect in California.
In this story:

2025 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei wide receiver Marcus Harris announced his top 12 schools on Tuesday and the Oregon Ducks made the cut.

Some of the other schools in the running for the elite wideout include Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas among others. The only other West Coast school to make his updated list was Washington.

Harris is listed at 5'11", 180 pounds and was making plays all year for the Monarchs in 2022. He's rated a four-star (0.9788) recruit by the 247Sports Composite and the Ducks would love to add him to their wide receiver haul that already includes juniors Dallas Wilson (Tampa, FL) and Adrian Wilson (Pflugerville, TX)

The Southern California playmaker was able to take a trip to Oregon back in the spring and shared some highlights from the trip with Ducks Digest.

"The coaching staff," He said. "I got to talk to basically everybody on the staff. Everybody was welcoming. I got to talk to Coach (Dan) Lanning, Coach (Junior) Adams, Coach (Colin) Lockett, Coach (Rashad) Wadood. We all talked about the basic things and what the Ducks would bring to the table for me.

"I was able to be in the receiver room and see what it's like to be an Oregon Duck and honestly it's like a brotherhood. Everybody's talking, everybody's vibin'. You could tell it's a place you would want to go play football at. I really like it up there."

Oregon is no stranger to Mater Dei and already holds a commitment from 2024 wide receiver Jack Ressler after signing offensive lineman Lipe Moala last cycle.

Harris loves the family feel he gets in Eugene and how the Ducks are looking at the bigger picture.

"One thing that I like is that they're real family-oriented. I was able to talk to Coach Lanning and the first thing we didn't talk about was football we talked about family and his process through his whole coaching. Talking to a lot of other coaches they said Coach Lanning really cares about the players.

"From what I'm getting is that they're a good football program and at the end of the day they're just trying to get all their players off to the NFL and be better men."

Harris looks like he still has a decent way to go before making his college commitment, but we can confidently say that the Ducks are in a great spot.
