Elite Cornerback Dakoda Fields Schedules Oregon Official Visit
Oregon continues to heat up on the recruiting trail this month and the expected list of visitors for the spring game will only grown.
2024 Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra cornerback Dakoda Fields is starting to schedule his official visits and has locked in his date with the Ducks.
Fields will take his official visit to Oregon on June 23, he told Ducks Digest.
The highly-coveted defensive back has also scheduled an official visit to USC on June 3. The hometown Trojans have seen themselves loose a bit of steam in this recruitment despite plenty of visits to campus.
Fields is fresh off a trip to Eugene, where the Ducks strengthened their standing in his recruitment.
The 6-foot-2 defensive back also took an unofficial to Ohio State, his first trip to Columbus. However the feel is that the Buckeyes trail both Oregon and USC in his recruitment, with Washington being a bit of an unknown.
Fields is ranked the No. 76 player nationally, the No. 10 cornerback, and the No. 10 player in California according to the 247 Sports Composite. Oregon leads the 247Sports Crystal Ball with Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong logging his pick following Fields’ most recent visit to Oregon on April 10.
The Southern California product is one Oregon's top cornerback targets in the 2024 class and we listed him on our Ducks Digest hot board last month. Oregon has prioritized the Southern California area in recent cycles, signing one of Fields’ teammates, Rodrick Pleasant, as a crown jewel for Dan Lanning's 2023 class.
Oregon is also targeting 2024 cornerback Zabien Brown out Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei after landing in his top four schools. It seems the staff has a bit of work to do for Brown, but will reportedly get the final visit before his rumored commitment date of July 4.
Miles Lockart is another big target this cycle, and is the former teammate of Oregon freshman cornerback Cole Martin. Oregon will likely get an official visit but Ohio State leads.
Either way, Fields is one to watch for Oregon in 2024 and would be a huge pickup for Demetrice Martin.
