Oregon DL Target Jericho Johnson Picks up New Recruiting Prediction
Oregon generated some big recruiting momentum this past weekend after landing 2026 five-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland.
On Tuesday, it looks like the Ducks are gaining ground with one of their top uncommitted targets in the 2024 recruiting class.
Fairfield (Calif.) Armijo defensive lineman Jericho Johnson has been predicted to commit to the Oregon Ducks by Justin Hopkins of On3's ScoopDuck.com
Johnson was on campus over the weekend for an unofficial visit and saw Oregon blow the doors off of Colorado en route to a 42-6 win.
He's working from a final four of Oregon, USC, Utah and Washington and spoke highly of the coaching staff, particularly defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, leading up to the visit.
I would probably say Coach Tosh (Lupoi)," Johnson said when asked about his strongest relationship at Oregon. "He's from the Bay Area, so he grew up near the same area as me and he just he just knows that I could play a really big part in their defense. I could really round up this class and just dominate."

Johnson is rated a four-star (0.9449) recruit by the 247Sports Composite. The same system ranks him the No. 123 player nationally, the No. 19 defensive lineman and the No. 15 recruit in California.
Oregon already has three defensive line commitments this cycle in Xadavien Sims (OK), Tionne Gray (MO) and edge rusher Jaxson Jones (AZ). While they're still pursuing five-star Mater Dei defensive lineman Aydin Breland, who's down to a final three of Oregon, Georgia and Miami--they'd love to add Johnson to the fold.
Johnson is looking toward making a college decision some time in November and revealing his school of choice during the early signing period.
The Ducks' 2024 recruiting class ranks No. 12 nationally by 247Sports and has 22 verbal commitments.
