Prediction: 5-Star OT Brandon Baker to Oregon

Oregon is just getting started in the 2024 class and Baker would be a huge part of A'lique Terry's first cycle with the Ducks.
In this story:

The Ducks are heading into the summer at a great spot with their 2024 recruiting class. They got quarterback taken care of by adding Michael Van Buren and they shored up the trenches some more by adding defensive lineman Xadavien Sims, the No. 1 player in Oklahoma.

Dan Lanning and company boast the top class in the Pac-12 and are likely just getting started.

Today, I'm logging a prediction for Oregon to land 2024 Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei offensive tackle Brandon Baker.

Confidence level: 7/10

Explaining the pick

This is a pick I've been thinking about making for a long time. I've interviewed Baker probably five or six times since the fall and my last one left me feeling the best about Oregon in a long time.

His main concern was feeling "too comfortable" with the Ducks, seeing that his brother played there and he's been around the program for so long. But A'lique Terry and Dan Lanning have done a phenomenal job in this recruitment, getting the Ducks back in the lead since Adrian Klemm's departure.

Lanning has taken a personal involvement in this recruitment, which tells you Baker is one he really wants. The Ducks have done a great job in Southern California and the five-star offensive tackle is a must-get in 2024.

They signed 2022's No. 1 offensive tackle in Josh Conerly Jr., who's also been helping the Ducks in this recruitment as well, and they're looking to do it again in 2024.

Baker loves the culture around the Ducks and is obviously knows what they're all about. Oregon will have to hold off the likes of Georgia and Ohio State but I think they can get it done and he'll want to be a part of a historic class and helping the Ducks win their first national championship.
