The Latest: Oregon Commit Xadavien Sims Ready to get Back to Eugene
It feels like it's been a while since Dan Lanning and Oregon hosted recruits for visits. While the No. 13 Ducks will face Texas Tech today in Lubbock, one of their top commits will be back on campus next week.
2024 Durant (Okla.) defensive lineman Xadavien Sims will be back in Eugene when Oregon plays Hawaii at Autzen Stadium.
"I look forward to coming back out there on the game against Hawaii," Sims said. "I'm looking forward to getting out there to watch that game."

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman committed to Dan Lanning and the Ducks back in May and spoke about why Oregon was the call.
"As soon as I stepped on campus I really liked it. I got a feel for the program. Me and Coach (Tony) Tuioti we had a relationship before I committed so we talked a lot. It just felt like home. It felt like the place I can see myself developing and going to the NFL. Getting developed, be a first-rounder there."
Dan Lanning and defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi also played a big role in Sims' commitment.
"I like how Coach (Dan) Lanning is so bought into the program. He has the largest buyout in the country. I know he's real bought in and I know when I'm there he's gonna be there also. He developed a lot of great first-rounders, a lot of big-time players. So I know he can do the same with me.
"Coach Lupoi, he's the defensive coordinator, he specializes in D-linemen. So that's a lot of defensive minds on one team. That's why I really like Oregon."

While he's been a Duck for a nearly four months, other schools are still recruiting him hard.
"Yeah Michigan State, TCU, SMU, just schools like that--they're still pushing hard," Sims noted. "They're still trying to keep the connection there and still trying to recruit. I understand it though."
So how does Sims manage those conversations?
"Just respecting them--they offered me a full ride, so I have enough respect for them to at least answer them. But me, I'm pretty locked in. I don't see it going further than that really."
As one of the top commits in Oregon's 2024 recruiting class, there are a few players that he'd love to see join him in Eugene.
"I'm hoping we get Aydin (Breland) and Brandon (Baker)," he said. "I think those would be two huge pick ups on the O-line and D-line. So that's what we need to keep this thing rolling. We just keep getting dogs."
The future Duck defensive lineman was selected to the Adidas All-American Bowl on Friday and is proud of the work he's put in.
"It's been a long time coming," Sims commented. "I have some friends like Bai (Jobe), he played in the All-American game. Just to be recognized as an All-American, there's only 100 players in the country that can go to that game. So it's a real huge accomplishment for me and I look forward to attending and playing."
For fans who may not know much about Sims, he gave them a breakdown of what kind of player is heading to Eugene.
"I feel like I bring the whole package. Everything you would really want in a D-lineman. Relentless effort. I can rush the passer. I can play any scheme. You could put me anywhere on the D-line and I'm gonna dominate."
Sims concluded the interview by sharing his excitement for a big senior season before he enrolls early at Oregon in January.
"It's going to be a heck of a season for me this year. So just stay tuned and just watch."
