USC Transfer WR Gary Bryant Jr. Visiting Oregon This Month

Gary Bryant Jr. entered the transfer portal in January and the Ducks have stayed in the picture.
In this story:

The transfer portal has been a big focus for the top teams in college football this offseason.

Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks inked 10 players from the transfer portal but they may not be finished just yet.

The transfer portal will remain closed until May, but Ducks Digest has confirmed that USC transfer wide receiver Gary Bryant Jr. will visit Oregon this month.

Bryant signed with the Trojans as an Adidas All-American wide receiver from Corona (Calif.) Centennial High School in the class of 2020. He was rated a four-star prospect, a top-10 wide receiver and top-five player in the state of California by the 247Sports Composite.

During his initial recruitment he took an official visit to Oregon as well as Washington, Arizona State, Oklahoma and USC. After signing with the Trojans he played in five games as a freshman during the COVID-19 shortened season, catching seven passes for just 51 yards.

But it appeared things were looking up in 2021 when the 5-foot-11, 180-pound wideout caught 44 passes for 579 yards and seven touchdowns in 10 games. He redshirted in 2022 in the debut of Lincoln Riley as head coach in Los Angeles, with transfer wide receivers Jordan Addison (Pitt) and Mario Williams (Oklahoma) staring for the Trojans.

As for Oregon, the Ducks signed four wide receivers in the 2023 recruiting class, two from the prep level and two from the transfer portal. Jurrion Dickey was the country's No. 2 wide receiver and Ashton Cozart was an Under Armour All-American who's already enrolled at Oregon.

Traeshon Holden comes over from Alabama and was reinstated by Dan Lanning after being dismissed from the team last month. Troy transfer Tez Johnson looks to fight for snaps as the starting slot wide receiver after reuniting with quarterback Bo Nix.

Oregon isn't the only visit Bryant has scheduled. 247Sports' Greg Biggins reported that in addition to his trip to Oregon on March 16 he'll visit Texas A&M on March 24 and a decision could come shortly after those two trips. Miami and Arizona remain involved according to Bryant's father.

Wide receiver isn't a pressing need for the Ducks, but adding the crafty speedster to Junior Adams' room would certainly be a bonus.
