The future is bright at quarterback for the Oregon Ducks.
Since being hired this offseason, new offensive coordinator Will Stein has already helped the Ducks land two 2024 quarterback commitments in Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy quarterback Michael Van Buren and Phoenix (Ariz.) Sunnyslope passer Luke Moga.
On Thursday, Ducks Digest hit the road and traveled to Chula Vista, California to see Oregon's 2025 quarterback commit: Akili Smith Jr. from San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln High School.

The 6-foot-5, 205-pound Southern California talent turned in a solid performance against the defending CIF 2-AA California State champion Crusaders, finishing the game completing 12 of his 21 passes and throwing for 192 yards and 3 touchdowns against 2 interceptions.
Smith also tacked on 35 rushing yards on four carries and one touchdown on the ground.
