Penn State Remains a Pepsi Campus

Nittany Lions fans will be drinking Pepsi products at Beaver Stadium for another 10 years.

After flirting with other drink companies, Penn State is sticking with Pepsi as its beverage vendor of choice. That means Penn State football fans at Beaver Stadium will be drinking Pepsi products for another decade.

According to a news release, Penn State expects to sign a new 10-year deal with Pepsi for pouring rights at campus venues. The new contract would extend Penn State's partnership with Pepsi through 2023.

Penn State said it engaged with other beverage providers during a six-month bidding process. Perhaps that's why Coca-Cola trucks were spotted on campus. Nevertheless, Pepsi retained the campus rights it has held at Penn State since 1992.

One interesting note from Penn State: Pepsi makes 828 products, about 400 more than any other bidder. Some of those products include Aquafina water, Gatorade and Stabucks bottled drinks. Penn State also said that revenue from the Pepsi deal was used to build the Bryce Jordan Center, which opened in 1996.

Football fans can buy not only Pepsi products for another 10 years but also beer for a second season. Beer sales will return to Beaver Stadium after being introduced during the 2022 football season.
