PITTSBURGH -- For the past five weeks, Pitt Panthers sharpshooter Blake Hinson has been exploring what his professional prospects look like at this point, taking advantage of the NBA's Early Entry draft process while retaining his college eligibility.

Hinson had until this week to decide whether he wanted to commit fully to leaving Pitt early and pursuing a professional career and announced his decision to return a day before the deadline.

Hinson earned second-team All-ACC honors last season after averaging 15.3 points and six rebounds per game, both team bests. He also led the Panthers in 3-point shooting with 97 makes on 38% shooting from deep.

He will be a key contributor as a veteran leader as well as an offensive threat. The Panthers had already lost four of their top five scorers from last season - all of whom were seniors. In retaining Hinson, they avoid becoming one of the youngest teams in their league.
