PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers suffered two tough losses on the road last week and closed their regular season on the downswing. After falling to Notre Dame and Miami in consecutive games, the Panthers have lost ground in the race for their first NCAA Tournament bid in seven years.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi, one of the most accurate bracket forecasters out there, has dropped Pitt down ever so slightly in his latest projections as the ACC Tournament approaches. He now has the Panthers as an 11 seed, one of the "Last Four Byes". They would avoid a play-in game and face six seed Kentucky in Albany, New York. The winner of that game would play the winner of Gonzaga-Furman in the next round.

Pitt is right on the edge of having to travel to Dayton, Ohio for the First Four, but can help themselves by earning a win or two in Greensboro, North Carolina this week at the ACC Tournament.
