PITTSBURGH -- Jorge and Guillermo Diaz-Graham have been Pitt Panthers for just a few months, but they are already the foundation of their team's future. The two rangy big men are far from finished products, but that's what makes Pitt such a good fit for them. 

With All-ACC center John Hugley returning to dominate Pitt's frontcourt, head coach Jeff Capel and his staff have plenty of flexibility to manage the workload for each player. If they're ready to play immediately, they can be fine complementary pieces to one of the best returning players in the ACC. And if not, there is enough depth to afford to stash them on the bench and let them grow into their own talent. 

The twin brothers have similar looks, builds and ratings from the manor recruiting services. But they play differently, so don't expect their paths at Pitt to mirror one another.

Stephen Thompson graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications and political science from Pitt in April 2022 after spending four years as a sports writer and editor at The Pitt News, the University of Pittsburgh's independent, student-run newspaper.  He primarily worked the Pitt men's basketball beat, and filled in on coverage of football, volleyball, softball, gymnastics and lacrosse, in addition to other sports as needed. His work at The Pitt News has won awards from the Pennsylvania News Media Association and Associated College Press.  During the spring and summer of 2021, Stephen interned for Pittsburgh Sports Now, covering baseball in western Pennsylvania.
