GREENSBORO -- For the first time since joining the league in 2013, the Pitt Panthers will be able to watch the first day of the ACC Tournament from the stands.

As the five seed in this year’s tournament, Pitt got to watch 12 and 13 seeds - Georgia Tech and Florida State - battle for a right to play them in the next round. The Yellow Jackets emerged victorious after rallying from down 10 at halftime. Javon Franklin made a free throw with 0.2 seconds left to secure the 61-60 victory. He finished with 10 points and 18 rebounds and Miles Kelly scored 18 points to lead his team.

The Seminoles suffered a pair of key injuries in the game. Forwards Matthew Cleveland and Baba Miller both hurt their lower bodies. Both players eventually returned to the game after spending time with trainers in the locker room.

The Panthers will take on the Yellow Jackets/Seminoles in the second game of the early session tomorrow at the Greensboro Coliseum. Tip off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and the game will air on ESPN.
