PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers forward John Hugley continued to draw interest from high-major programs immediately after transferring. 24 Division I programs - 18 of them from the Power 5 and Big East - had reached out within days of him entering the transfer portal officially and now a new school is in the mix.

Hugley is considering one of Pitt's ACC foes, Georgia Tech and holds them in high regard early in the process. He will visit with the Yellow Jackets this weekend, according to a report from recruiting insider Joe Tipton.

Hugley, a former four-star recruit, has three years of eligibility left. He played just eight games this season, averaging eight points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 47% from the field. He spent most of the season away from the team, rehabilitating his physical and mental health. A knee injury sidelined him for most of the season and he never looked like the same player upon returning to the court. He earned All-ACC honorable mention honors in 2021.
