PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers got an unexpected extra gift on Christmas Day last year when four-star wideout Ric'Darious Farmer announced that he had become the second player to commit verbally to the program's 2024 high school recruiting class.

The Panthers were certainly ecstatic when he committed and they'll be even happier to learn that his impressing more and more scouts while preparing. to move from his junior to senior year. Farmer, the No. 35 player in his state and 40 receivers in the class, is still rated as a four-star by 247Sports, but has been elevated up into the recruiting site's latest top 250 rankings. He's now the No. 245 player overall in the class of 2024, up a full 80 spots from No. 325.

Farmer, a native of Cocoa, Florida, chose Pitt over the likes of Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Iowa State, Miami, Michigan State, Missouri, Penn State, Virginia and West Virginia. Texas A&M extended an offer to the blue-chip wideout back in late February.
