PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers' depth took a hit upon learning the news that Jorge Diaz Graham will be sidelined with an ankle injury that appears likely to end his season.

According to a report from Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the injury originated during the summer and barred Diaz Graham from competing in Pitt's exhibition games in Spain. As the season went on, he reaggravated the injury and it worsened to the point that he will no longer be available for the remainder of the year.

Diaz Graham missed Pitt's last two contests against Duke and Georgia Tech before news of his injury broke. He averaged 3.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.8 assists on 36.4% shooting from the field in 10.4 minutes per game this season.

With the Panthers' frontcourt depth already in a fragile state, there's no clear replacement for Diaz Graham in the long run. Federiko Federiko and Guillermo Diaz Graham will likely see extended minutes as a result while Jeff Capel may be forced to lean more heavily on the likes of Will Jeffress and Zack Austin as well.
