PITTSBURGH -- A former Pitt Panther is now officially out of the transfer portal after finding a new home in the Atlantic 10.

Sophomore forward Nate Santos was one of just two Pitt players from the 2022-23 squad to have exited the team via the transfer portal and is the second to commit elsewhere. Per a report from Joe Tipton of On3, Santos committed to Dayton this week.

Santos' recent basketball career had been disjointed. He did not play during his junior season of high school after suffering an injury, then lost all of his senior year to the Covid-19 pandemic before arriving in Oakland and playing his first season amid still-strict health and safety restrictions.

The 6-foot-7 rising junior played 29 games this past season, averaging 1.6 points and 1.2 rebounds, playing about seven minutes a game. He leaves Pitt with 116 career points, 83 rebounds, and 17 steals after arriving as a three-star recruit in 2021.

The Panthers have one more scholarship left to use this offseason.
