PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers have lost three reserve wide receivers to the transfer portal since the beginning of the 2022 season and one more left to pursue a career in professional football. As a result, the Panthers have been aggressive in the transfer portal pursuing pass catchers to restore some depth to the receivers' room.

A new target is on the board for Pitt after redshirt sophomore Myles Alston opted to enter the transfer portal at the end of the spring practices. Eastern Michigan transfer Darius Lassiter, who announced his intent to transfer just two days ago, has earned 10 offers since entering the portal and one of them came from the Panthers.

Lassiter's other offers came from Toledo, Texas State, James Madison, UNLV, East Carolina, Middle Tennessee, Boston College and BYU. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Lassiter, a former two-star recruit coming out of Butler Community College in Kansas (the same JuCo Panthers tight end Karter Johnson attended), caught 51 passes for 923 yards and 13 touchdowns over 17 games. In his lone season at Eastern Michigan, Lassiter caught 40 balls for 471 yards and four scores.
