PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are undoubtedly getting a good player in 2023 point guard Jaland Lowe, but just how good he is relative to the rest of his class is open to interpretation. One recruiting service has released new player rankings that dropped Lowe from the spot he held in mid-January.

ESPN's new rankings have Lowe as the No. 76 prospect in the class of 2023 - down 10 spots from where he was in the previous edition. He still maintained his four-star rating and even gained a point in his overall rating, elevating from an 83 to 84, but still fell behind some other prospects.

Lowe is still the highest-rated signee in Pitt's 2023 class, which had been ranked in the top-25 of both Rivals' and 247Sports' team rankings earlier in the cycle. The Panthers now sit at 34th in Rivals' pecking order and 24th in 247Sports'. The class also includes fellow four-star combo guard, Carlton Carrington and three-star wing Marlon Barnes.
