PITTSBURGH -- With the 2023 college football season set to kick off in almost 24 hours, ESPN has released a new set of bowl game predictions that have the Pitt Panthers potentially heading to some interesting destinations.

ESPN college football insider Mark Schlabach has picked the Panthers to play in the Pop Tarts Bowl against Kansas State and fellow bowl expert Kyle Bongura believes Pitt will return to the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl to play another Pac 12 opponent in Cal.

The Pop Tarts Bowl is slated for December 28th at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida and will kick off at 5:45 p.m. The Sun Bowl would be played the following day and kickoff at 2:00 p.m. from the Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso. Texas.

These do not represent the upper echelon of bowl game possibilities for Pitt, but would likely mean the Panthers won anywhere from seven to nine games during the regular season.
