PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers' 2024 NFL Draft class will be much thinner than it's 2023 counterpart but they are still expected to have a player selected within the first three rounds.

In a new mock draft published by Connor Livesay of The 33rd Team, the Detroit Lions select former Pitt offensive tackle Matt Goncalves with the 92nd overall pick in the third round.

Goncalves was the only Panther to be selected in this mock draft, but he won't be the only one from Pitt at the NFL Combine this week. Cornerback M.J. Devonshire and wide receiver Bub Means will also be in attendance.

Goncalves emerged as one of the Panthers' best offensive linemen after a strong 2022 campaign in which he helped fill in for Carter Warren, a starter and team captain who went down with a knee injury midway through the season. Goncalves was a preseason first-team All-ACC selection before suffering his injury earlier this year.

Six Panthers were selected in all during the 2023 Draft but after an underwhelming 3-9 campaign, not many are predicted to be drafted this spring.
