PITTSBURGH -- The Denver Broncos have now signed their entire rookie class to their first contracts after fourth round pick and former Pitt Panther Damarri Mathis inked his first deal on Thursday. The details of his contract have not been released yet, but Spotrac estimates that it will be worth $4,438,963 over four years with a $778,963 signing bonus.

Mathis is now officially the second former Panther to join the Broncos secondary this offseason. K'Waun Williams agreed to a two-year, $7 million deal with Denver in March.

Mathis, the 115th overall pick of the 2022 Draft, missed all of the 2020 season with a non-football related shoulder injury, but came back stronger than ever in 2021. He was the top corner for the 11-3, ACC Champion Panthers. He amassed 86 tackles, five interceptions and 18 defended passes during his time at Pitt and earned an All-ACC honorable mention at the conclusion of his final season.

This is the third year in a row that a Pitt defensive back has been drafted. 2021 fifth-rounder Jason Pinnock and 2020 fourth-rounder Dane Jackson proceeded Mathis.
