Report: Former Auburn TE/WR Landen King Sets Pitt Visit
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers are moving forward with their recruitment of former Auburn receiver and tight end Landen King.
According to a report from Pittsburgh Sports Now, King will visit Pittsburgh to see the Pitt coaching staff and facilities the week after he had earned an offer from the program.
This is the second time he has entered his name into the portal, with the first coming in November. King eventually withdrew his name. He caught six total passes for 83 yards and a touchdown during his two seasons at Auburn.
King, a former three-star recruit from Humble, Texas and Atascocita High School, was ranked as high as the No. 10 tight end in the class of 2021 (ESPN) and the No. 51 player overall in his class (Rivals). He held offers from Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Michigan State, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Ole Miss, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech and Washington coming out of high school.
With the Panthers having already added former USC and Texas tight end Marcus Epps to a room already staffed by Gavin Bartholomew and Karter Johnson, King seems bound for the wide receiver's room should he pick Pitt.
Utah, Colorado, Louisville and Cal are the only other schools to have offered King as a transfer so far.
