PITTSBURGH -- The 106th Backyard Brawl between the Pitt Panthers and West Virginia was not necessarily and aesthetically pleasing game, nor did it garner the same kind of hype as last year's matchup, the first of its kind in more than a decade.

But still, 2.41 million people tuned in to see the Panthers fall, 17-6, to the Mountaineers at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia, making it the ninth-most watched college football game of Week 3, according to Action Network's Brett McMurphy.

The Backyard Brawl once again was played under a national television spotlight. After playing on ESPN on a Thursday night in 2022, ABC's Saturday Night Football picked up the broadcast.

Of all the ACC games in Week 3, just one - Florida State at Boston College on ABC - drew more eyeballs than Pitt-West Virginia and just one primetime game - Tennessee at Florida - had more viewers than the Backyard Brawl.
