Bears Re-Sign Former Pitt QB to Active Roster
PITTSBURGH -- The Chicago Bears couldn't do without former Pitt Panthers quarterback Nathan Peterman for long.
According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Peterman was added back to the Bears' active roster, just days after he was released, to fill in the gap left by two players moving to the injured reserve.
This preseason, Peterman appeared in all three games, starting one and completing 58.3% of his 24 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 22 yards on four attempts.
In college, Peterman orchestrated one of the best offenses in Pitt history. In 2016, he started all 13 games for the Panthers, who set what were then school records in scoring. He completed 60.5% of his passes for 2,855 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions while posting the ACC's highest passer rating (163.4).
