PITTSBURGH -- The 2023 schedule is slowly coming together for the Pitt Panthers, who just learned of another one of their kickoff times for this fall.

Pitt and Cincinnati will renew the River City Rivalry with Cincinnati in Week 2 at Acrisure Stadium and kickoff the 13th game of the series at 6:30 p.m., the program announced this week. TheCW, which purchased the rights to 50 ACC football and basketball games for each season through 2027, will carry the game as its first ACC sporting event in station history.

This series between two dates back to 1921 but went through a few major breaks in the action. Pitt won the first seven games but the Bearcats have won four of the last five, including two in a row in Pittsburgh.

The most famous game of the rivalry came in 2009, when Brian Kelly, Tony Pike, Marty Gilliard and the Bearcats stunned Pitt, 45-44 in front of a sold out Heinz Field to capture the Big East title and a BCS Bowl bid.

The Panthers will try to snap a two game skid that dates back to 2011 when Cincinnati visits town this September.
