PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers defensive back Jason Pinnock single-handily got a struggling New York Giants team back in the game against the AFC powerhouse Miami Dolphins.

Facing multiple MVP candidates on the Dolphins offense, the former Pitt corner turned Giants safety intercepted Tua Tagovailoa in the endzone and returned the turnover 102 yards for a touchdown.

The first defensive score and interception of Pinnock's career turned what could have been a 21-3 deficit into a 14-10 game just before halftime and got the Giants, in desperate need of a win, back in the mix of a game that looked like it might get out of hand.

Pinnock has made the best of his third season in the NFL, playing so well for the Giants after coming over from the New York Jets that he earned a starting job at safety following training camp.

He tallied 54 tackles, 25 passes defended and six interceptions over 46 games in four seasons at Pitt before joining the Jets as a fifth-round draft pick in 2021.
