PITTSBURGH -- The New York Jets sure do love their Pitt Panthers. They've added three former Panthers to their organization this weekend. After drafting offensive tackle Carter Warren and running back Israel Abanikanda, the Jets signed defensive end Deslin Alexandre to an undrafted free agent contract.

Alexandre, a team captain for the Panthers this past season, was named the Jason Witten Collegiate Man of the Year for his off-the-field efforts to raise money for impoverished children in his home country of Haiti and other charitable work in the Pittsburgh community. He was also named to the AFCA Good Works Team, won the Coach Wooden Citizens Cup and won the prestigious Pitt Blue-Gold Award.

On the field, Alexandre was a steady member of Pitt's dominant defensive line. His season was shortened due to injury, but he still managed to play in and start nine games, compiling 29 tackles, 6.5 stops for a loss, 5.5 sacks and two passes defended. For the second consecutive season, he earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors. Alexandre appeared in 58 games over the course of his career, recording 131 total tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks and eight passes broken up.
