PITTSBURGH -- Pat Fitzgerald has been dismissed from his head coaching position at Northwestern following allegations of rampant hazing, sexual assault and racism within the Wildcats program. And with his 17-year tenure at a close, Pitt Panthers head coach Pat Narduzzi has climbed to become the No. 17 longest-tenured head coach in the FBS.
Just three ACC schools - Clemson (Dabo Swinney), NC State (Dave Doeren) and Wake Forest (Dave Clawson) have held on to their head coaches for longer than Pitt.
Since taking over in 2015, Pat Narduzzi is the only ACC head coach not named Dabo Swinney to win the conference championship. He has two title game appearances to his name and one ACC Championship on his resume.
Narduzzi owns a record of 62-41 as head coach of the Panthers, including a 41-22 in conference play. He has coached five consensus All-Americans and moved into second in school history in coaching wins last season. He's tied for the school lead in bowl game appearances and has led his team to top-25 finishes in consecutive years.
