PITTSBURGH -- 93.7 The Fan Morning Show hosts Adam Crowley and Dorin Dickerson - a West Virginia alumnus and former Pitt Panthers tight end, respectively - received a surprise call from "Pat from Pittsburgh" during their daily morning show this week. Pat wanted to talk some smack about the Backyard Brawl and wondered why a Pittsburgh radio station was being promoted

"[I'm] wondering what we’re doing with this West Virginia guy on our radio station?" Pat, who later identified himself as Pitt head coach Pat Narduzzi, said. "I mean we couldn’t find someone better? His parents were smart enough to go to Pitt but this guy just couldn’t get it done, huh?”

Crowley and Narduzzi exchanged some jabs about this fall's game, the first of the new series to be played at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown, West Virginia, in which the Mountaineers will try to avenge a heartbreaking 38-31 loss to the Panthers at Acrisure Stadium.

Narduzzi wondered why some of Crowley's family members, several of whom attended Pitt and even played football for the Panthers, could "get it done" while Crowley opted to attend West Virginia.

After some more banter, Narduzzi and Crowley made amends and shared some laughs before the Pitt head coach talked about how excited he was for the coming game and the atmosphere Mountaineer fans are sure to greet his team with.

“I’m really excited about that 7:30 night game," Narduzzi said. "Couldn’t be more excited. Hey, 7:30 in Pittsburgh a year ago and we’ll take another 7:30. It’ll be a great atmosphere down there. Wear your hard hats and get ready to go.”

Crowley said at the end of the segment that he has respect for Narduzzi what he's built at Pitt through authenticity and enthusiasm, adding that he's talked to a Pitt commit's mother once who raved about the coaching staff.

“That’s a guy who I can see why he’s had the kind of success he’s had. He’s real," Crowley said. "I don’t think he’s cocky. He’s not afraid to think his team’s going to be good and set the expectation of his team being good. And they have been good and for a while they weren’t and the program’s turned on it’s head now. They’re in a good spot with Pat Narduzzi.”
