PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will welcome their fourth different starting quarterback in as many years this season when Boston College transfer Phil Jurkovec takes the field for the first time in blue and gold. In Pittsburgh, there are high expectations for the former blue-chip recruit in his final year of eligibility but outside the program there's not much confidence he can make noise on a national level.

Heisman Trophy odds for players from around the country have been released and Jurkovec could provide some good value for bettors looking for a dark horse.

BeOnline.ag, BetMGM and DraftKings have Jurkovec odds pegged at +20,000. Ceasar's Sportsbook is slightly more optimistic at +10,000 and FanDuel splits the difference at +15,000.

Injuries have held Jurkovec back at times, but he was still able to throw for 5,183 yards, 35 touchdowns and 17 interceptions with a 59% completion percentage over 24 games in a Eagles uniform. He has a connection with Panthers offensive coordinator Frank Cignetti, who coached him at Boston College, that could help make the transition smoother.
